Work Story

Originally from the UK, Cat pursued an international career in marine research, completing scientific studies in South America, Indonesia, South Africa, and more. She finally dedicated her career to understanding and managing the bottlenose dolphin of the Bay of Islands, completing a PhD and obtaining a Senior Marine Ranger position at DOC.  Cat’s expertise made her the lead trainer for the Environmental Governance module of the Marine Kaitiaki Course, and her diverse experience allows her to support other marine education activities as well. Her current research focus is on improving acoustic databases for Far North Waters.
